Home Business - Multi Level
Marketing
For some, Multi Level Marketing (MLM)
is the Holy Grail of business.
For others, Multi Level Marketing (MLM) is
a legalized crime wave. In truth, MLM is a business
model that's only as good or bad as the people in it.
MLM means multi-level marketing. MLM is also
called network marketing, direct selling, referral marketing,
and affiliate
marketing.
MLM is simple: Have you ever seen a movie, then
told a friend to go see it? Now, suppose the studio that made
the film sent you a check for your recommendation?
Instead of paying sales employees, MLM
companies pay people who use and recommend their
product/service.
MLM sales people, also called
Distributors, Representatives, Associates, or Independent
Business Owners (IBO's), tell people they know, about products
and services during the course of everyday normal
conversations.
It’s the business of word of mouth (WOM). And,
whether you like it or not, you’re already in it! You just
aren’t getting paid for it.
What kind of people do
this?
The Multi Level Marketing business is
now around fifty years old. It generates more then 30
billion per year in revenue in the United States, and 100
billion worldwide.
This money is
being produced by:
-
Work
At Home Moms
-
College
students crushed by student loan debt
-
Retirees whose
401k's have evaporated
-
Asian
Americans and other minorities.
And it’s done without the headaches of
traditional business ownership. You have no employees, no
payroll, no store rent, no fixed territories.
A traditional franchise offers turnkey
operation – complete with manuals, instructions, and
training. Multi Level Marketing companies do the
same.
It’s a ready made business, complete with
products, services, policies and procedure and training. All
for a fraction of the cost of a standard business.
What people are saying say about Multi
Level Marketing:
According to Fortune Magazine, MLM is an “An
investor’s dream… The best kept secret of the business world…A
industry with steady annual growth, healthy cash flow, high
return on invested capital, and long term prospects for global
expansion.””
Former President Bill Clinton said, “Your
industry promotes core values all around the globe and gives
people the chance to make the most of their lives.”
Former British Prime Minister Tony Blair
declared, “It's a tremendous contribution to the overall
prosperity of the economy.”
There are 13 million Americans and 53
million people worldwide in MLM. MLM has grown more
than 91 percent in the last ten years
Each week about 175,000 people in the United
States, plus more than 300,000 around the world get involved
with MLM. Yet despite, phenomenal growth, far less than one
percent of the world’s population are direct sellers. This
number suggests that the MLM industry has just scratched
the surface of what looks like limitless potential.
Distinguished economist and best selling author
Paul Zane Pilzer predicts 10 million new millionaires will be
created in the Untied States between 2006 and 2016. This is
more than double the previous ten years. Specifically, Pilzer
states that many of these new millionaires will be from the
MLM industry.
The business world has
begun to take notice of multi level
marketing.
The founder of Virgin Records and Virgin
Atlantic Airways and one of the richest men in the world, owns
Virgin Cosmetics Company, a leading cosmetics firm in
Britain, which is a MLM.
Other companies like Time Warner and Citigroup
have begun multi level marketing companies.
David Bach, a financial planning consultant and
expert who has appeared on the Oprah Winfrey show; as well as
Stephen Covey, author of 7 Habits of Highly Effective People,
each have commented on the enormous potential of
MLM - multi level marketing.
